SDA is a dance school with a twist, a dance school that teaches the highest quality of dance tuition and technique with equal priority on creativity, expression and the wellbeing of each child. Our school provides age appropriate classes and experiences, letting our little ones enjoy dance and not be forced to grow up too quickly in what can otherwise be a somewhat less than nurturing industry.
We want to bring out the very best in each child, whether your child needs a little more confidence, help making friends or has dreams of being in the spotlight and making a career in the performing arts, SDA is a home away from home. Our school is filled with nurturing staff, kind peers and has zero tolerance for bullying, leaving your child with a safe environment where they are free to express themselves, develop their skills and be inspired.
All teachers have a current NSW Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate as well as NSW Police Checks;
Our class sizes are small, we cap every class at 14 students to allow every child to feel valued and have the time to develop a relationship with their teacher to ensure the best possible class experience. This excludes our older Acro dance workshops and sessions;
Our preschool, Jazz and Lyrical curriculums are 100% unique and created by our team specific to the needs of our students;
Our Junior School follows the prestigious Cecchetti Ballet method;
We follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus for acro dance classes.
"Emily has been with SDA for almost two years. She started as a shy and reserved girl and over time we have seen her confidence and independence develop. We love hearing how she volunteers to take the lead in class and I love it when she corrects her father's pirouette. When Emily dances freely in public we get many compliments about her dancing and positioning, which can only be attributed to SDA developing her passion for dance. We love how SDA allows the flexibility to use make up classes for different genres and this has only encouraged Emily to want to dance more. The staff are beautiful souls who never fail to make us feel welcomed. Thank you!" - Marylene
"This is the most warm and nurturing ballet school I have ever come across! The staff are simply wonderful and go out of their way to make ballet an enjoyable experience for the children (and for the parents). Ballet class is the highlight of my daughter's week. Thank you Miss Gina for all you do to encourage a love of dance in my girl." - Allison
